Peaks Island is the first of the six Casco Bay Islands off the coast of Portland Maine. It is only accessible by boat and is serviced year-round by Casco Bay Ferry Lines. It's a short 15 minute boat ride from Portland to Peaks Island.

You will need to purchase a ticket at the Casco Bay Lines Ferry Terminal, which can only be purchased in person. All tickets are automatically roundtrip, tickets are not time or date specific and all trips are first-come, first-serve when it comes to boarding the boat. Please give yourself ample time - the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm.

Please be mindful that you are specifically looking for a ticket to Peaks Island. Casco Bay Lines has a few ferries in their fleet, but only one goes to Peaks Island. The other 5 islands are serviced by different ferries (which will take you on a long adventure in the wrong direction and you can wave to us as you pass by).

Once off the ferry, just walk up the hill about 100 yards and you will see the Inn on Peaks Island to your right.

The ferry makes trips to and from the island just about every hour. Near the end of the night, our DJ will announce a few of the upcoming ferries so that guests have enough time to get to the dock. During the summer the last ferry leaves the island at 11:55pm.

Casco Bay Lines does not have its own parking garage, however there are a few options nearby.

We suggest taking the 3:15 ferry to Peaks, which should allow you ample time to be seated for the ceremony.

There are water taxi services in Portland - feel free to book one! Keep in mind that this option is more expensive and, depending on availability, is not guaranteed to get you there on time. If you should find yourself in this situation and cannot make the 4:00pm ceremony, hop on the next boat and join us for the reception!

Reservations for a water taxi can also be made in advance if you'd prefer this option over the ferry.

The Inn on Peaks Island is a short 2 minute walk from the dock to the front door. For those that need extra assistance, we will have someone with a golf cart waiting at the dock.

Accommodations on Peaks Island are limited. The venue, The Inn on Peaks Island, is reserved only for family and the wedding party. Check out the 8th Maine Regiment Lodge & Museum listed under our Airport + Hotels tab, or peruse the options on Airbnb, VRBO, or similar sites. PSA: Some Airbnb and VRBO listings say "Portland" but if you read closely you may find they are actually on the island.

Portland itself will have an abundance of options compared to the island. Be sure to book quickly for the best options and deals!
